RACTAS looks at system design as the application of system theory to product development. We have also expertize within system analysis, area engineering and system engineering which have some overlaps with system design. However, our main focus is on the mechanical and process aspects. The parts of system design related to signals, controls and power fall outside our core competence and hence in the following, these areas are not discussed.
RACTAS considers system design to be the process of defining and developing systems to satisfy specified requirements of the user. We start our system design activities by answering the following questions:
When these questions are answered, we start to look into:
Finally, we document the system design by preparation of descriptions, schematics, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and system animations.
